Thirteen-year-old Laura arrives at an eerie town in the midst of the tropics in Costa Rica where it is said that a Beast killed several women. When a dear friend disappears in the depths of the forest, she starts to unravel the secrets of the town and finds out that maybe the Beast is not such a magical creature as they say.
