who we are ?
Since its creation in spring 2005 the visions sud est fund has supported 198 projects from across the globe. 167 of these films have already been completed and many have been selected at festivals around the world, claiming awards such as the Golden Bear in Berlin, the Golden Shell in San Sebastián, Caméra d’or in Cannes or the Golden Kapok Award in Guangzhou. From Sundance to Venice, from Busan to Toronto, visions sud est’s logo has been seen everywhere. Today, more than half of the completed films have been distributed and released in Swiss cinemas by trigon-film. In collaboration with Open Doors at the Locarno Film Festival and with the Industry activities of Visions du Réel in Nyon, additional projects are also elected and supported (55 have been supported so far). Apart from supporting the production of these projects, it is visions sud est's goal to enhance the development of local production structures and to offer film directors a possibility to enter the international film market.
visions sud est is a joint initiative by the four following festivals: Festival International de Films de Fribourg, Locarno Film Festival, Visions du Réel and the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, as well as the trigon-film foundation.
The fund is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
