In the mountains of Afghanistan, child shepherds obey the rules: they are to watch over the herds and must not frequent the opposite sex. But a carefree attitude is never far away; while the boys mess around and train with slingshots at keeping the wolves at bay, the girls smoke on the side, play at being married, and tease little Sediqa, who is considered cursed. The legends the elders tell them about get mixed up with life, and throw light on the mysteries of their protected world. But how long will it last.
